Zulu and Zinga love their treats! We bless them with a variety of treats each day. From cucumber and apple, to the treats shown below, they’re never in want of any good thing because we love them so much!
They also love dried Cod fish skin! We get it from Pet Supermarket, and give them a small piece about once per week.
The “Snuffle Mat” puzzle feeder is a great way to challenge your dog’s mind while they eat, or to slow your dog down if they eat too fast. It exercises their brain as they search all the pockets for kibble or whatever treats you put there. There are different levels of challenges available depending on the one you get. We chose the “Smelly Matty” one, and it came with extra pieces to make it super challenging if you really want to challenge your dog’s mind.
While puzzle feeders are fun, you do need to make sure you don’t frustrate your dog with them. If your dog initially has a lot of trouble figuring it out, help them, and keep it fun. Eventually they’ll have it mastered, and then you can increase the challenge gradually by hiding the food deeper inside the pockets, or by using the extra items (if included).
One of the puzzle feeders that we love is the Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Puzzle Toy For Dogs. The puzzle feeder slows down your dog when they eat. As a result it challenges their mind as they hunt for their food more like they might in the wild.
Slow down your “scarfer”
The Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Puzzle Toy For Dogs will naturally slow your dog down as they eat. Some dogs tend to eat really quickly. Open feeding may cause this when the dogs are young, and rapid eating may develop as a defensive mechanism because of the competition in such environments. You can help break them of this habit by utilizing a puzzle feeder which forces them to slow down.
Challenge the mind
Did you know that like us, our dogs get bored too? You can easily add variety and stimulate your pups mind as they eat by using a puzzle feeder like the Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Puzzle Toy For Dogs. You’ll enjoy watching as your dog figures out how the puzzle works, and their nose guides them to the food.
Make it fun!
The Outward Hound Nina Ottosson Puzzle Toy For Dogs can be fun for you too. Try timing your dog and keeping a record of how long it takes them to eat each time. See if they get faster over time, and increase the challenge to keep them engaged longer.

The Wyze Cam 1080p HD Indoor Wireless Smart Home Camera with Night Vision and 2-Way Audio is what we use to peek at Zulu and Zinga when we aren’t home. It’s inexpensive and works great! Check out the Wyze Cam on Amazon
Wyze provides internet connected cameras at a really reasonable price. That’s what first attracted us to them. We did some research to make sure that the company was trustworthy, and that their security was sufficient.
You can store captured video in the cloud if desired, or you can disable that feature entirely.
There is also a micro SD slot so you can record to the device privately – with sound.
The Wyze Cam functions as a two-way audio link as well, so if your dog is misbehaving, you can get their attention and distract them.
The camera can be set up easily, and sitting on any flat surface, can be angled as needed to capture the whole room. You can also mount to to a vertical surface or upside down using the included magnetic plate.
